MAY CAMERON – CENTENARIAN

One of our members, May Cameron, celebrated her 100^th birthday in style recently. May is one of the last veterans from WWII and served in the WRAF as a plotter, including during the D-Day operations 

During the morning service, she was presented with flowers but, unbeknown to her, a bigger surprise was yet to come!  At the end of worship, she was greeted in the church halls by family members and friends, who gathered to celebrate this special birthday with her.  The hall was decorated with banners, balloons and lights and Rev Mike Goodison introduced some other guests who had also come along to mark this memorable occasion.  They included: Sheila Bulloch, Deputy Lieutenant who presented May with a card on behalf of King Charles,  Provost Donald Balsillie from Clackmannanshire Council and Eileen Turnbull from Menstrie Community Council.  After the formalities, all present enjoyed fellowship and a delicious Afternoon Tea. A lovely afternoon for a very special lady.
